21st Century Paradox

The “quantum system” is a challenge to our idea of what constitutes an object. Central to and implicit in that idea is a time scale. What is static at one scale is dynamic at another.

The boundary of the “system” is arbitrary…it is relative to the time scale at which it is observed. Nothing is “absolutely” static. Nothing is “permanent”. It is at best operationally “fixed”. Time is real.

Our world is best described as fundamentally hyperbolic where every point is a saddle point. The features we perceive as Euclidean are a result of our evolutionarily developed senses and mental processes. They are useful and “successful” at the space and time scales we “inhabit”. They are “successful” only in as much as we are here.
